The 128 Figs of Destiny

In addition to action figures, I also collect Lego minifigs. In fact, Lego was my gateway drug to the world of plastic crack! I used to be active in the local Lego community and even ran a blog called Nothing But Brick. Fun times, mate! Anyway, one of my favorite aspects of the Lego hobby has always been mixing and matching minifigs. One of the projects I started before my self-imposed Lego “dark ages” was building a complete set of unique fantasy-themed minifigs inspired by Dungeons and Dragons, Japanese RPGs and classic fantasy tropes. After my hiatus, I casually returned to Lego late last year and decided to name the project “The 128 Figs of Destiny”. If you’re a JRPG fan, you’ would know where the inspiration came from. If you’re a JRPG fan, you’ll recognize the inspiration behind the name.
Here are some of the minifigs I’ve showcased so far. The project is still ongoing, with only 22 out of 128 figs posted to date. Life has gotten quite busy lately so I had to put it on hold. Hopefully, I’ll be able to continue it soon.
All of the figures are built entirely from genuine Lego pieces. I have bins filled with countless minifigure parts and accessories. I’m not kidding when I say a lot of poor minifigs were sacrificed to bring this project to life.
Lego will always hold a special place in my heart. It was a significant part of both my childhood and my adult life. I met a lot of amazing and fun folks in the local Lego community during the times I was active in it. Also, I still have some unfinished Lego projects that I wish to get back to soon and share them here at the blog. Stay tuned, folks!
