Custom TMNT Turtle Van for my Mezco Turtles

I recently started a project out of the blue last month. It all began when I watched a YouTube video by Duarte Studios where they customized a Playmates TMNT Mutant Mayhem Pizza Fire Delivery Van for them Mezco Turtles figures, which by the way is one of the holy grails in my collection. I’ve always wanted a proper Party Wagon which I can use alongside them so I decided to take the risk and give modding one a try. I didn’t have any experience customizing vehicles so this was a first for me. Good thing there was a Pizza Fire Delivery Van on sale at Ollie & Co’s Shopee store and snagged it for nearly 50% off. Not bad at all!

I think it took me about 15 to 20 days to complete the project. I initially went for a brand new, pristine look but I found it was tough to pull off especially with the paint job. It took me multiple attempts and several Tamiya spray paint cans to realize a gritty, worn finish was all I could do. I didn’t go all out with the weathering like how Duarte Studios did it though. I simply applied a wash on the body and left it at that.

Overall, I’m pleased with how this project turned out. Though I didn’t get the look I was initially going for, I still think it looks good and would shine beside the Mezco Turtles. I’m really excited to unbox them and do that shoot. Stay tuned, folks! I’ll be sharing the entire modding process soon.
