Attack of the Shotoclones

One of the first figures I got when I started collecting years ago were these Ryu and Kens Masters figs from S.H. Figuarts. I’ve always wanted to have figs of these two since they’re my favorite characters from the entire Street Fighter franchise. I was thrilled when I got them back then because not only were they still available on the shelf at SRP, but they were also on sale. If I remember correctly, I picked them up for about PHP1500.00 each at Play Giant Glorietta. It was definitely a good haul for me then.
It took me awhile to convince myself to buy these figs. The “need” to have Ryu and Ken in figure form started when I saw their SOTA Toys counterpart being sold at Toy Kingdom Megamall back in the late 2000s. At that time, I had just started working my first job and didn’t have enough disposable income to collect toys so I held back. I also missed out on the NECA line for the same reason. Tough times, mate! 2018 turned out to be a great year for me so I made sure to finally get these two.
These two are standout pieces in my collection and I’m really happy they could still hold their own against the other Street Fighter toy lines currently available at the market. I just wish Tamashii Nations would pick up the pace with their releases since Jada Toys and Storm Collectibles are both doing an impressive job with their respective lines. It would be really cool to see the rest of the Street Fighter roster fleshed out in S.H.F. form.
We’re still tidying up the other sections of the blog, but rest assured, more toy content is on the way. Stay tuned, folks!
