I’m a Star Wars fan and since it’s Star Wars Day today, let’s celebrate it with a special blog post. I’m also excited to introduce a new section of the blog called “Squad Goals” where we’ll showcase iconic pop culture teams in action figure form. For today’s entry, let’s have a look at the legendary crew from the Orginal Trilogy.
I think it’s safe to say this is everyone’s favorite squad. We were all captivated the moment we saw Luke Skywaker, Princess Leia Organa, and Han Solo on screen and we’ve followed their journey ever since. The supporting cast was just as awesome: the wise Obi-Wan Kenobi, the mighty Chewbacca, and the smooth Lando Calrissian. Last but certainly not the least, the iconic duo of the series – the charmingly annoying protocol droid C-3PO and the adorable astromech droid R2-D2.
These are Black Series figs from Hasbro and even though some of them are older releases, they still hold up remarkably well. However, I’m planning to upgrade my Luke and Han with the 2025 versions since these have improved sculpts. I need to save up for them.
It’s incredible that Star Wars remains relevant today. It has ignited the imaginations of countless generations and inspired kids to explore science fiction, fantasy and space opera. These genres play a vital role in shaping the future and in times like these, we all need a new hope. Happy May the Fourth, folks!
