My 40th Birthday Gift from the Waifu

I just turned 40 last February and I feel incredibly lucky to still be here, living the life that I need and want. It’s heartbreaking to remember friends who were meant to celebrate their 40th birthdays this year but are no longer with us. Every time I think of them, I pray and thank God for blessing me with life and the chance to make the most out of it. Life can be pretty challenging these days, and I’ve learned we have to embrace both the good and the bad. I guess that’s the beauty of it right?

The Waifu and I have been married since 2013 and together since 2007. One thing we have in common is we’re both into collecting toys which is why we have always been supportive of each other’s pre-orders and impulse buys. We’ve been together for so long that we both grew tired of playing the guessing game and now openly share our wish list for special occasions. We find this makes things easier and more enjoyable for us since since it guarantees we’re getting something that we truly want and appreciate.

So for my 40th birthday, I asked her to get me something to complement my TMNT holy grail: the Mezco 1:12 TMNT Deluxe Boxed Set. By the way, this remains sealed to this day. Reently, Mezco announced their new Master Splinter action figure. It actually looks great but the price is way beyond my budget. Luckily, NECA already has a Master Splinter fig that goes perfectly well with the Mezco Turtles so that’s what I requested for my 40th. It looks amazing and I can’t wait to unbox it!
