Toy Bayanihan Collective: A Fun Community for Toy Photographers!
I consider myself as an amateur toy photographer at best. I’m always in awe when I browse social media and see the work of other toy photographers. There are so many talented artists out there really. They take their craft seriously and bring the game to a whole new level. Recently, I joined a group of like-minded enthusiasts and it has been an amazing experience so far. Introducing Toy Bayanihan Collective, a toy photography community on Instagram made up mostly of members based here in the Philippinnes.
How did I join the ranks of these incredible artists? It all started when I stumbled upon the post of one of the members I follow in IG. By the way, you should check out his IG feed. If you’re into dinosaurs, wrestling and DC figures, then photoge_nicc‘s content is a must-see. Anyway, I reached out to him and asked if I could join the group. I’m truly thrilled to be part of this community because it’s a fantastic opportunity to learn from the best and hone my skills as a toy photographer.
Like many online communities, Toy Bayanihan Collective is known for its members collabs. Since joining, I’ve had the chance to participate in 2 out of 3 of these online events. The first one is a “selfie” collab themed around figures taking selfies. The second celebrated Star Wars day on May the 4th. Here are my entries for both. Check out the posts of the other members here. They’re really awesome!
In Filipino, “bayanihan” is a word that describes the idea of communal harmony, cooperation and collaboration. This is the core value that the group stands for and lives by. There’s a special joy in finding your tribe and sharing a hobby with like-minded individuals who truly understand and appreciate the experience.
